Add an AI chatbot to your Wix website

A Wix AI chatbot that answers your visitors from your own site's pages, around the clock, and passes them to you when a person is needed. You add it through Wix's Custom Code setting: one line, on all pages, at the end of the body.

Before you start: what Wix requires

Wix runs custom code only on a published site with a connected domain. In practice that means a Premium plan, because connecting your own domain needs one. On a free wixsite.com address the code is saved but does not run.

You also need an account with us. Sign up with your e-mail, enter your Wix site's address (the connected domain, not the editor link), and copy your line of code from the dashboard. It looks like this:

<script src="https://7x24hrs.com/widget.js" data-store="site_…" async></script>
Your own line, with your website's id, is in your dashboard after you sign up.

Add it in Wix

  1. Open your site's dashboard in Wix and go to Settings.
  2. Scroll to Development & integrations and open Custom Code.
  3. Press + Add Custom Code and paste your line into the code box.
  4. Give it a name you will recognise, such as “AI chat”.
  5. Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and Load code once.
  6. Under Place Code in, choose Body - end.
  7. Press Apply, then open your live site. The chat button appears in the bottom-right corner and your dashboard shows Connected.

If your Wix menus look different, look for the setting called Custom Code: Wix moves things around between dashboard versions, but the name stays.

Wix has its own AI chat. Why add another?

Wix offers its own chat tools, and if they cover what you need, use them. Reasons owners add ours instead:

  • It answers only from your own pages and says “I don't know” when they do not cover a question, rather than filling the gap.
  • Questions it could not answer are listed for you, a to-do list for your pages.
  • Hand-offs reach you in Slack, Discord or Telegram as well as e-mail, and from the chat apps you answer the visitor live.
  • The same assistant and the same dashboard work if you ever move your site off Wix.

What it does on a Wix site

It reads the public pages of your site, re-reads them every day, and answers questions about your services, products, opening times, prices, shipping and returns, in the language the visitor writes in. On a Wix store it answers product and policy questions from your product pages. It does not connect to Wix's order system, so it cannot look up, cancel or change orders: questions about a specific order are passed to you.

Troubleshooting

  • Nothing appears: check that the site is published and opened on its connected domain, not in the editor or preview.
  • It appears on some pages only: edit the code in Custom Code and choose All pages.
  • The dashboard does not say Connected: the address you registered must be the one visitors use. www and without www count as the same; another domain must be added in your dashboard.
  • Two chat buttons: if Wix Chat is switched on too, turn one of them off so visitors are not confused.
Does it work on a free Wix site?

Wix runs custom code only on published sites with a connected domain, which needs a Premium plan. On a free wixsite.com address the code does not run.

Can I add it to one page only?

Yes: in Custom Code choose Choose specific pages instead of All pages. Most owners want it everywhere, so visitors can ask from any page.

Does it read my Wix blog and FAQ?

It reads your site's public pages, including blog posts and FAQ pages it can reach from your site. Members-only pages are not read.

What does it cost?

30 conversations a month free, with a small “Powered by 7x24hrs” line. Paid plans are $19, $59, $199 and $1,099 a month for 90, 275, 1,000 and 6,000 conversations. See pricing.

Can I remove it later?

Yes. Delete the snippet in Settings → Custom Code and the chat is gone from your site.
